No One Speaks About The Truth When It Comes to Support
There are some truths that sit heavy on the heart, and this is one of them. For a long time, I’ve carried the weight of watching someone incredibly talented someone full of music, creativity, and light, be surrounded by people who never truly saw her. Not the way Jennie deserved to be seen by them.
Jennie had an amazing gift and a massive heart. Anyone who heard Jennie sing knows that. But what people don’t know is how often that gift was met with silence, criticism, or worse discouragement from the very people who should have lifted Jennie up.
The truth is simple: the people who should have been Jennies biggest supporters weren’t there for Jennie at all! Not in the way Jennie needed and wanted. Not in the way Jennie deserved. The people who barely knew Jennie, friends, strangers, people who stumbled across Jennie or our music, showed us more love and respect over these years than those closest to us ever did.
(I did and I wont stop... Fully. Consistently. Proudly and loudly)
Not because I had to, not because of our love, but because I believed in Jennie. Because I saw Jennie as Jennie. Because I knew what Jennie carried inside her, not just a massive heart, but a passion Jennie wanted to share with the world. Jennie wanted her grandkids to see us both when they were older and have our memories live on, and say, that's our Nana and Kev! Not to be forgotten about. We wanted our love and memories to live on, no matter what, we worked so hard all these 11 years and they don't get forgotten about, no matter what.
I’m the only person who can make that happen now. The only one who will carry those memories and story on. And to this day, I’m still the only one giving Jennie the love and respect Jennie always had by keeping our love and memories alive.
My values haven't gone anywhere.
If it wasn’t for the love and work we did together, the memories, the photos, the videos, the music, the moments, Jennie’s presence online wouldn’t exist today online. Jennie's voice would be a whisper instead of a legacy. The world wouldn’t have the chance to see the beauty Jennie brought into it.
And now, after everything, there are people who want to take that. People who never shared anything, never supported our dreams, never stood beside us, suddenly wanting to claim pieces of OUR story...
Like I’m going to let that happen.
No one can rewrite: Our love, nor Our story.
Jennie’s voice, our voices and visions live on because of what we built.
Jennie’s memories shine because we carried them.
Jennie’s voice is still heard because I refused to let Jennie be silenced into someone forgotten about.
We weren’t afraid to stand out. We weren’t afraid to love loudly. We weren’t afraid to show the world who we were together.
And no one, absolutely no one, gets to take that away. Not while I’m still breathing.
This isn’t anger. This is clarity, this is sharing our love.
Jennie deserved celebration.
Jennie deserved support. Jennie deserved people who believed in Jennie, and no matter what and through every storm, we still shined above the noise around us.
Jennie’s story is safe, our story is safe as that's all that's inside me.
The world will continue to know Jennie, because I made sure of it, and I’ll continue to put Jennies love in all that I do until the day I die. Our love stays where it belongs: with each other, always.
We see real support just by looking at the shares and the likes, and comments, that's where the real support came from, which gives me this idea..
To celebrate the love me and Jennie built together, I’ll now be running a monthly competition.
Every month, one person will win any book of their choice from the Jennie Benita's Collection completely free.
How to enter:
• Like the post• Comment something meaningful
• Share it publicly
Simple. Fair. Based on real support, not on empty words.
Take part every month and you could even end up with the full collection without paying a penny.
This keeps Jennie’s memories alive, spreads our story, and shows who truly supports what we created in these years. My love doesn't end, it shouts to a higher place until the day we meet again.
